Q: What engines would be more compatible to swap in my 1986 Buick Regal?
I have a 1986 Buick Regal with the Oldsmobile 5.0L 307 cui engine. The engine doesn’t essentially give me enough power I’d like so I’m looking at putting in either a Oldsmobile or Chevy 350, possibly an even larger engine. I’m well aware of the differences between the 2 makes of engines (power wise and their design) but overall which choice would be the most compatible with my Regal, or should I look for something a little bigger or smaller? Hoping to be in the mid to high 300hp range.
A: I have a Olds 350 rocket in my 78 Monte. It is really torquey. I’ve heard the olds blocks have a higher nickel content in them which makes them stronger (which ones, I am not sure, probably the older ones).
It depends on if you want to keep it all olds, or not. The best $$$ spent are usually on a chevy 350. You can make more HP easily with that for less money. It also depends on what bolt pattern your trans. has.
Some have a universal bolt pattern, some don’t.
Q: how do you install a blower motor relay in a buick regal 2001 ?
my buick regal’s a/c and heating will only work on high when you first start the car. then when you turn in down or off it wont work at all. whats wrong with it?
A: It sounds like the resistor for the blower..not the relay. Relays very rarely go out. The resistor is behind the blower motor/fan…usually behind the glove compartment.
Q: What kind of mounting kit do I use to install a new deck into a 92′ Buick Regal?
I have a 92′ Buick Regal, and the factory deck is one of the 3 inch square ones at the top of the dash, below it and above the ash tray there is a 2inch tall and 8 inch long slot I can use,but do they make mounting kits for this kind of slot?

Q: Can I manually override the automatic headlight sensor on a 2001 Buick Regal?
I am temporarily using my mother’s 01 Buick Regal and the headlights automatically turn on at dusk. But the other day I was driving through a snowstorm and it wasn’t dark enough outside for the lights to come on, however I wanted them on for safety. I pressed every button on the dashboard, but still I couldn’t turn on the headlights. There are running lights that are on constantly, but I would prefer the headllights.
A: You pull the headlamp switch outwards. Like on most cars. One notch for parking lamps and 2 for headlights.
Q: How do I remove the rear speakers on a Buick Regal 01?
One of my rear speakers is blown in my 2001 Buick Regal. I want to replace it, but I don’t want to pay Best Buy $75 to put them in. Does anybody know how to take them out? THE MORE DETAILED, THE BETTER!
A: if you mean the pair in the rear window
go into the trunk
the speakers are held in by very simple spring clips
squeeze the clip handle and carefully swing
the hanger out of the way so as not to drop the speaker
unplug the wire connector
if you are installing other than original replacement parts
then you might need to modify the connector
especially with aftermarket speakers
to install , reverse the procedure
if wiring needs to be modified
then pay close attention to what color went on what terminal
if wires get crossed sound will be poor
Q: Any idea where I would search for a soft top for a buick regal?
I’ve tried some different auto sites, but I can’t find any soft tops besides those for convertibles. I have a 96 Buick Regal Custom, but the top has some mold damage, and I’ve been looking to have it reconditioned.

Q: Can I put a supercharged 3800 engine in my 98 Buick Regal LS?
I recently blew the engine in my 1998 Buick Regal LS, and have been wanting a GSX for some time. But would it be possible to buy a gsx supercharged engine of the same year out of another buick regal, and put it in my car with out a bunch of conversions? Thanks for your help!
A: I had a 1999LS, it was an awesome car. The 3800 is used in a bunch of models and GM reduced the number of unique parts as much as possible to make them cheaper to produce. This includes the hood and engine bay, which is identical between the two models. On paper, yes, you can do this, but what I’m not certain about is the computer and transmission.
Some modders with GM cars of that era have had problems because the transmissions were nderspecced for the more powerful engine. I don’t know if the tranny is the same for those two models, but it is worth asking.
So, check the transmission and ECU compatibility and expect to spend a lot. There are few bargains for 3800s out there, especially supercharged ones. Remember that thing I said about GM using it in multiple bodies? That also means you’re competing with a bunch of other performance guys who want it for THEIR blown up racers, so good luck.

A: Park it in the shady part of town for a week. Your radio should be removed at that point with ease. Then head into Best Buy or wherever you’re getting your audio from, buy the proper dash kit, and get it all wired up.
Q: What is causing my 96′ buick regal from starting?
There is a little issue with my 96′ Buick Regal. It starts when it wants. Sometimes, I have to give the key a few turns before it decides to start. Other times it won’t start unless I give it a jump start. Battery is good, so it’s not that. What else can cause these starting problems? I hope someone can help me with this. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
A: How do you know the battery is good? Most people mistakenly believe a battery has a good charge if it lights the headlights and other lights and accessories. The headlights only draw about 6 to 8 amps and the other lights only draw about 1 amp each. But the starter draws about 250 amps, and more on some vehicles. So a half-charged battery can easily power the headlights and accessories but not have the power needed to deliver the amp load the starter draws. If it takes a jump to get it started then I suggest you do a proper battery and charging system test. You also said that sometimes it takes a few key turns before it decides to start. That can indicate a loose or corroded connection someplace or a faulty ignition switch.
Q: Will there be a manual transmission in the new Buick Regal?
I was told that the new Buick Regal will not be available with a V6 engine, only a 2.0 liter and a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder motor. Does it not stand to reason than GM should offer a manual transmission for these cars?
A: It would be nice, but I doubt it. These are low bugget vhicles and most of them are being bought by people who doesn’t drive manual.

A: The best value in my opinion is a “synthetic blend” motor oil that allows 7,000 mile extended oil changes. See your owner’s manual and use the oil weight specified as well as the oil change intervals for a synthetic blend oil. Q: Why does My 95 Buick Regal Idle Low sometimes and cut off?
I have a 1995 Buick Regal Custom with a 3.8L. And kinda often whenever im in traffic stopped, i tap the gas and it cuts off. Same thing in some parking lots, as soon as i let off the gas to turn in the spot, it cuts off. Its like it Idles to low or something. sometimes it hesitates to cut off when i let off the gas and then runs normal. Can you Help?
A: Clean the throttle body and iac motor. The MAR is off due to carbon fouling.
