Q: How much does a first-generation Dodge Challenger cost?!?
I’ve been desperately trying to find this out. I’m considering a Dodge Challenger (I love the newest generation, but also the first. Second, meh.) and cannot find out how much one should cost if it’s not a project/skeleton car. Some on eBay motors are $25,000 and some are four grand.
A: the prices are down on them right now,their not that high right now, i own a 73 challenger and only paid 14 grand for it,and its original not restored,and bought it off the original owner,you can find them priced right if you take your time,it took me 3 years to get the one i wanted,but waiting paid off,depending on the engine option though some of them are selling for as much as 60 grand right now,right now its one of the most over priced cars on the used car market,good luck.

A: A nice set of wheels will change the looks quicker than anything else. Torque thrust II’s will be a natural fit on that car.

A: You’d need a wiring harness, but there’s no way that without modifications that head-unit would fit. Sorry!

A: The differences are the features included between these packages.
For instance, the R/T model has a 4 speaker stereo system. The R/T Classic model has a 6 speaker stereo system.
R/T model has cloth seats, while the R/T J and Classic packages have leather trim bucket seats.
R/T model doesn’t have front heated seats, while the R/T J and Classic packages have heated front seats.

Before you take a loan for ANY car, find Dave Ramsey on the radio, TV, or get one of his books.
In essence, you can not afford a car you are not prepared to pay cash for. If you can not afford to pay cash, then it follows that you can’t afford to loose the 10-25% depreciation any new car looses when you drive it off the lot.
Look at the pictures under my profile. Yup all mine, not the banks. My daily driver is a 1991 Escort or an even older Nissan. Ironically, I swore I’d never buy a new car. I’ve always had reliable transportation that suited my needs, including cross country trips with the family. Being sensably frugal is what allowed me to save enough to break my vow and get the R/T. (I had seriously looked at the SRT, and chose the R/T for non-economic reasons).
I did this on my own, but Ramsey does a good job of explaining, almost exactly, how I have managed my own money. I just wish I had beat him to the book deals!

A: go back with the old style like some of the older challengers had on them,even the new style stripes look really good,some of those are styled off some of the older ones,good luck.

A: What I do and do not like about each one.
Chevy Camaro
I do not like the grill design or the large size or heavy weight. But at least it is smaller and lighter than the Challenger and at least it handles like a smaller and lighter car. I like the handling. I like that it has the most powerful normally aspirated American V6 engine and an even more powerful V8 and race car technology. I like the interior design and overall look of the car.
Ford Mustang
It is overrated. I do not like the interior. I do not find it fun to drive for older models before the new 2010 design. They are also everywhere. too common. And they have very low top speeds compared to competitors. The new 2010 Mustang GT model reaches 149mph. Thats it. No limiter. The Camaro SS and Challenger SRT-8 can both reach 170mph. What I like about the new Mustang is the looks. I also like that it is the lightest car.
Dodge Challenger
It is way too big and heavy. You do not feel the power. It is not fun to drive. It handles very badly. It is the worst on gas. It loses all of the comparison tests. The only good thing it has is the looks.
Overall, the Camaro has the most power by far and has more to offer so I like that the best.
