Q: How to work the rear wiper for a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt?
Ive looked everywhere and even looked on the web about how to work the rear wiper blade for my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt, can someone tell me where the switch would be or the trick?
A: you don’t have the owner’s manual/ if you don’t have one try a wreckers and look for same car and check the gloveboxes. I couldn’t adjust my trip computer so I spend about an hour at a wreckers for a owner’s manual I found 1 in an ute version off my car cost me 15$
Q: How many gallons does a 1996 mitsubishi eclipse gas tank hold?
my 96 non-Turbo mitsubishi eclipse.
i can run as far as 300 miles for a full tank
to fill it back up costs me 40dlls @ $3.19 a gallon
this is keeping the RPM under 4G’s
A: 16.9 gallons US
Q: My 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse sounds like HELL when I first start it up. I can turn off and restart and its fine?
My 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse sounds like HELL ( coming from engine ) when I first start it up. I can turn off and restart and its fine. I can drive it until its warm and its OK. But i can just trun it off and restart and its fine. I mean just 1 or 2 seconds turn off, restart and it sounds fine.
A: The car is fine
Q: Can you set up a Mitsubishi Eclipse for drifting?
Might get a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. I wanna know if its worth attempting to set up for drifting. If its horrible for drifting let me know. Thanks.
A: FWD is full of FAIL.
the only thing youll accomplish with FWD are power slides which are no fun.
itd be way too expensive to do it. Just look for an older model as some of the others have said below. Eclipse GSX and Talon Tsi AWD models are the ones you want to go with. not only are they AWD but they are turbo charged aswell.
Q: Would an Eagle Talon motor work in a Mitsubishi eclipse car?
I have a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse and the engine is blown. Can I put an eagle talon motor in it to replace it? Is this possible?
A: For the most part yes. The flywheels might be different however so it would be best to use the fllywheel and clutch from the donor vehicle.
Q: how do you replace 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse rod bearings & where are the located?
i am wondering how hard it is to replace 1995 mitsubishi eclipse rod bearings and where are they located? can u replace them from under neath the car?
A: your rod bearings are located with the crank shaft.. in the top of the engine.
Q: How did i match the wires from my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS To my Kenwood Radio?
The wires in my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Are different colors than the ones on my Kenwood deck, how do i match them up if they are not the same colors without buying a harness. Can someone tell me please how to match them up together so i can hook up my radio.
A: Just buy a harness, it will make your life much easier, especially since you won’t run the risk of damaging/ruining the factory harness by splicing into it.
For $10 at autozone, it’s a cheap way to ensure that things don’t go wrong.
Also, you might check out www.installdr.com too. If you’ve never installed a stereo before, it will be very helpful to you.
Q: how much money would it take to make a mitsubishi eclipse fast?
how much money would it take to make a mitsubishi eclipse fast? like im talking about prolly a 2nd gen or 3rd generation one. id like to get it up to almost 300hp if thats possible. what would be the most cost effective way of goin about that?
A: To get those kinds of gains you’ll need a turbo kit. Simple header, cai and catback exhaust wont do the job. The problem with turbo kits is you really get what you pay for, so if you buy cheap parts something bad WILL happen. On top of the turbo hardware you’ll need a computer and it’ll have to be tuned, so getting the gains you’re looking for is a big investment.
Q: Mitsubishi eclipse 2006 is the clutch covered under warranty?
I just bought a 2006 eclipse GT 6 speed with 8,000 miles on it and it seems that the clutch is slipping a little. At first I thought I had to get used to the new car but i guess thats not the problem. Can the clucth be bad at 8,000 miles?? And is it covered under the bumper to bumper warranty that mitsubishi offer?
It is not covered under the mitsu warranty but the dealer that sold me the car offered to pay for it cause HE SOLD ME the car with a bad clutch. I only had the car for few days!
A: well if you have bumper to bumper i dont see why they wouldnt, try calling the dealership and let them know what’s happening, and congrats on the gt
Q: Can I add a turbo to my Mitsubishi Eclipse motor?
I drive a 93 Mitsubishi Eclipse and am having a fairly new DOHC 2000 2L motor put in (30,000 miles). I want to possibly add a turbo to my car? Are there turbo kits for this motor? If so, how much can I get one for about?
Also, would I be better off instead looking for another Eclipse already with a turbo that has AWD?
A: you should prolly look for a awd eclipse. From my point of view. I am in your postion kind of though I am trying to decide between a 2nd gen gsx or a gst vs. a 3rd generation gt idk
Q: I have a noisy sound when I changing between 1 and 2 gears in my Mitsubishi Eclipse 1997?
I have a noisy sound when I changing between 1 and 2 gears in my Mitsubishi Eclipse 1997. What is is? Could you give me a good advice? Maybe I need to put some restorer in the trany? Also , I heard consistent sound. It is gone just in case if I push the clutch.
The problem just between 1 and second gears
A: Not enough information with this question. I’m going to assume this is
a transmission problem. First I suggest checking the fluid level at operating temperature. Also check the appearance & odor of the fluid.
The condition of the fluid will determine possible internal damage that
isn’t detectable externally.
Q: Is a 4 Cylinder engine wimpy for a sports car like a Mitsubishi Eclipse?
hey, im looking at getting this black 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. i really like everything about it. but the only thing im kind of upset about is the 4 cylinder engine that it has… i want a car that goes fast and is powerful and everything. so do you think a 4 Cylinder engine is too small or wimpy?
A: A 4 cylinder is great on gas but it is not fast. An import isn’t fast since the most they go up to is a V6 so if you want a powerful fast car you should get something with a V8.
Q: is it bad to supercharge a mitsubishi eclipse?
i have a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse it has around 6k miles on it its the v6 3.8L MIVEC engine all stock, and i wanted to know if supercharging it can damage the engine. given that performance headers are added with the supercharger.
http://www.eclipsecartuner.com/test/product_info.php?cPath=132&products_id=3002
link to supercharger in mind.
A: I suppose it would be fine, assuming it is reputably installed and properly maintained. The listed supercharger says it is for a 3.0 liter engine though.
Q: Where can i find the shift lock release button in a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
When it gets cold out (now) i have trouble getting my 1997 mitsubishi eclipse out of park. i believe it is a solenoid problem, and i need to find the release button so i can force it out of park. where can i find this button?
A: I’m fairly sure the interlock is adjustable and cable controlled. The cable runs from the brake pedal to the release mechanism which is under the center console just in front of the shift lever. I’d remove the center console and adjust the cable housing to make it longer. Since it’s not electric there is no release spot for a screwdriver.
Q: I want to how I can find the Voltage Regulator of my 1995 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE?
I want a drawing specifing where is the Voltage Regulator of my 1995 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE located at.
A: Nice try James….well, these newer alternators have regulators in them (on the back where the wires are plugged in). Some vehicles also have a regulator in the computer. The only place you can find a detailed diagram where all regulators are would be in a dealer manual. Talk to a dealership mechanic and they might let you read the book in their library to track it down.
