Q: What do you think about the 2011 Kia Optima?
Im thinking about getting one, and do you think it would do good in snow with some good snow tires on it.
I was thinking about keeping my 2001 Subaru Legacy. For the winter months, and its really cheap to insure too.
WV coal miner making 70000 a year. So yes i can afford it.
A: this car is not on the off road drivers top 10 and would likely not be too good in the snow. It is a fine looking car though and for the money likely a good value in general. an all wheel drive model of a car would be best for the snow driving
Q: Which car is better in snow? 2011 Kia Optima or Hyundai Elantra?
Im in the market to buy a new car. What drives better in the snow? 2011 Kia Optima or 2011 Hyundi Elantra
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
Q: which is better and why. 2011 kia optima or 2011 nissan altima?
the optima costs less than altima and has 100,000 mile warranty. however altima is more popular and sells more. which one is better? well equipped models for both can be purchased for around 25K. optima is about 2K to 3K less in price
A: Actually the raw numbers alone shows Optima as the better car.
Optima – Base engine 200 HP, 34 MPG
Turbo 2.0L 275 HP, 33MPG
Altima – Base engine 175 HP, 32 MPG
V6 engine 270 HP, 27 MPG
The Optima is also has more interior room. For a piece of “crap” it kinda kicks the Altima’s a$$.
The Altima is decent car but it’s pretty middle of the pack right now.
If resell is important I know the Sonata has one of the best resell values in the class right now. You may want to look at the Sonata as well. Both are mechanically the same, but the Sonata is tuned more comfort while the Optima is more sporty.
Q: 2011 kia optima vs 2011 suzuki kizashi?
im looking at getting either the 2011 kia optima or the 2011 suzuki kizashi. and i dont know which one to choose… i like them both a lot, the way they drive and the way they look. so which do you guys think is the best choice? i already checked insurance and such, and their both good. please dont comment saying their both unreliable junk etc, i just want a good comparison and preference of the two. thanks so much!!
A: Good grief neither, both are garbage.
.
Q: 2011 hyundai sonata or 2011 kia optima?
they both nice..which one can i get the salesman to come down in price the most? Is this a good car..kia is hyundai isn’t it?
A: KIA is not a Hyundai but KIA is owned bu Hyundai. While I have not shoped for the Optima, I have considered looking at one, I think they are a good looking car. Don’t really believe you would go wrong on either one.
Q: 2007 Bmw 328i $18,500 or 2011 Kia Optima $21,000?
I have been saving money, and ready to buy a new car, I love the design of new Optima, but the performance of the bimmer attracts me too.
A: How many miles on the BMW?
Assuming around 50K miles on the BMW, I’d pick the Kia because the overall cost to maintain will be much less expensive and you get a great warranty.
Your insurance will likely be cheaper, as well.
The BMW factory warranty is, or soon will be, over, and that is when things start getting expensive.
Q: my niece wants to buy a Kia Optima 2011 and she says it has a Honda powertrain,i don’t think that is possible?
A: Kia may have a Hyundai powertrain, bot not a Honda powertrain. Kia is Korean, Honda is Japanese.
Q: how is 2011 kia optima for 25000?
leather seats, 200 horsepower, automatic transmission. 45.5 inch leg room (one of the largest out of all cars) and 100,000 mile warranty. is that a good deal?
what are you talking about? have you seen the pictures of the 2011 kia optima interior and exterior? its a cool car.
http://www.kia.com/#/optima/explore/360-views-and-colors-interior/
http://www.kia.com/#/optima/explore/exterior/
A: And yet…you can buy the same thing made in the US for around 18k…it’s called a hyundai sonata.
Q: I’m Planning to buy Kia Optima 2011 $18000 Do you think it is good car for that price? Pls tel me your Idea.?
And if you can suggest me better car with that range would appriciate
A: Consumer Reports recommends the Optima
Q: Should I get a kia forte koup or 2011 optima?
I’m looking to buy a new car in the coming months, and I’ve narrowed my possibility to these two kia models. The Optima (2011, mind you) LX Automatic trim costs roughly the same as the Forte Koup SX, while the Optima has better safety ratings, making the insurance rates lower. I really like the styling on both, but i like the forte koup’s slightly better. I don’t necessarily need four doors, so that is not a factor for me. I’m just looking for quality of the cars and features. Which one of these fine cars do you think I should get?
A: I was really impressed with the write up of Optima in Motor trend.
I think its a great car.
MT was critical of the ‘artificial feel’ of the steering – but I think only an expert can tell the difference.
I have the same components in a Hyundai Tucson and am happy with that.
Q: Is their a Kia dealership in Alabama?
I live in Birminngham and I am not fond of the Kia dealer here, they have shady tactics. I do love the 2011 Kia Optima though, so I would love to find a Kia dealership near Birmingham, AL.
A: There is… I actually had the same problem. Try The Kia Store Anniston It is in Anniston – Oxford just north east of Birmingham, AL. You can look on their website to see if they have the car you want first before you make the trek there. www.mykiastore.com. Good luck!
Q: Need car buying advice & options. 250+ HP comfortable and quick. 2011 optima SX?
I’ve asked this question but didn’t get to extend it.
I currently own a 2003 Mercedes Benz, but don’t want to deal with constant repairs. Especially out of pocket. It has 100k miles. I like the way it rides (steering, pedals, seat height) but its acceleration at times leaves more to be desired. I was unable to restore the interior through regular detailing and vacuuming and such since I purchased it used at 45k miles.
Right know I’m looking at the Kia optima 2011 SX, 275HP, with the premium package since I really would like the same type of roof I have with the benz. I don’t like to be w/o sun/moon roof. It doesn’t have to open.
I would not like to pay over $350 per month and have about $12K to put down w/ no trade-in. Are there any other choices I should consider? I would like the car to be in a New condition w/ no more than 25k miles, easy/smooth steering and be quick.
Must haves: Leather (not hard)
HID/Xenon (the ones that turns when you turn is a plus)
Automatic headlamps (if its on 24/7 is cool too, as long as when the car is off it goes off)
Audio upgrade-ability (Mercedes was awful in this department) I’d like to put my own navigation, amps, speakers.
Audio upgrade-ability ( Ability to change alternator and batteries if necessary )
Warranty for at least 4 years. I don’t know how many miles I’ll drive but I think it will be less than 8k/yr
Auto windows up/down (or hackable, I can mess with circuits and some 12v stuff)
Nice to have:
Cold/Hot weather package
Folding rear for more trunk.
good turning radius ( I don’t know the technical turn but to make the tightest turn possible. I like to stay in my lane when I turn, especially for U-turns)
Aesthetically pleasing, I know this is subjective. But I prefer curves over triangles. The whole honda/acura design I don’t like. I like G37, nissan maxima, bmw3 ( 2 door version) , mercedes CL, CLS, Just to have an idea of my design taste.
I have trouble expressing ideas. So if the question isn’t understood is what cars should I consider and how they fair vs the kia SX in whatever ways you would like to compare them. Value**, features, performance, tech, etc..
I am unsatisfied with the prior responses:
Answerer 1
Now you might be looking for something newer but consider a 97-2001 audi S4. It has 250 hp from its bi turbo v6 and has AWD. It comes loaded with just about all the features you mentioned ( leather, xenon, folding rear, cold/hot weather pack, auto windows. You can get one for $5,000-$15,000 in good condition.
Answerer 2
Consider a Subaru WRX. For under $30k you have a car with moon-roof, 265 hp, AWD and a 0-60 time of 5.2 sec. This car will beat any BMW, Audi, Mercedes, or Volkswagen in that price range guaranteed. Subaru’s are also one of the easiest cars to upgrade and they come in hatchback or sedan versions.

I own one
The first one is a car older than the one I currently own, also german and don’t have time to search for lower part prices. I forgot to mention I don’t have any income since I’m a student and don’t want/need unexpected expenses. If I can make my care brand new again inside and out I’d keep it , but the poor thing has 100k miles, and the inside well at 45k till now I couldn’t restore so that’s out of the question. Besides old leather != new leather.
The second response is better, but I really don’t like hatchbacks and I NEED an AUTOmatic transmission. I’m also not really feeling the styling on the WRX. I’m not into racing nor upgrading the car for that purpose. I’d like quickness for overtaking in highways where you have to accelerate quickly to get out of a jam, and in the streets to get up to the limit quickly.
Don’t know if I mentioned it before but I also like the exterior styling of the 335i coupe, not sedan, and the A4 3.2 (Though I can’t find any for less than 30K)
I’d also like good resale value which is very poor on kias. Sometimes they have 4k cashback which can help in that department. I’m sorry if this question seems long and specific, but this is a big commitment to me and really can’t afford to get out of it as easy if I had a cash flow.
A: Kia resale has improved quite a bit over the last couple of years.
I doubt your going to get any serious cash back offers on the new Optima. With the current pricing and the stellar reviews its getting and given that its on the same platform as the 2011 Hyundai Sonata which has been very popular since it came out, I suspect Kia will not have any problem moving the Optima.
As to the turbo, I haven’t seen anything definitive on when the Optima turbos will reach dealers.
If you like flowing vs angular styling you should look at the Sonata. Its the same platform as the Kia and their turbos are already on the dealer lots so you can get an idea of the performance. I would expect Hyundai would hold value a little better than Kia as well. Hyundai had 24% growth in sales last year. A huge chunk of that was the Sonata.
Q: What 2011 model car would you choose?!?!?
Kia optima 2011
Scion tc 2011
Ford focus 2011
Ford fusion 2011
A: In a nutshell
Kia optima 2011- One of the best values in the class. Impressive design, good fuel economy
Scion tc 2011- ok. Not great; not bad
Ford focus 2011- Decent car but the 2012 Focus will be much better. You may want to wait for it.
Ford fusion 2011- One of the best in class. Design is aging however.
Q: What kind of car should I get? (more details inside)?
Right now, I drive a sporty, 2-door car, but I am expecting a baby so I need to upgrade.
Here is what I want: 4 doors, safe, mid-size, decent gas mileage, black, less than $20k
A few I like are: 2011 sonata, kia optima, vw jetta
Suggestions or opinions? Thank you!
A: I drove the Optima and Sonata. I’ve been in the new Jetta but didn’t drive it.
Right now the best value is the Sonata because, since it’s been out for a little while, you can get a mid level (SE) lightly used Sonata for about $20,000. It will be a nicer than a base Optima and MUCH nicer than the Jetta. The new Sonata’s resell is one of the best in the class now.
I do like the Optima better because it has one of the better interiors in the class and it’s more of a drivers car. Even with it being mechanical the same as the Sonata; Kia tweaked the suspension a little to be a little more sporty. You can get last years Optima, which is a decent car, for much less than $20,000 but it won’t be as nice at the new Optima.
The Sonata is a nice ride too but more sedate feeling.
I climbed into the Jetta recently and VW really cheapened the interior. So much so I didn’t even want to test drive it. Reviews said the ride was solid and sporty but the interior is one of the plainest I ever been in. At only 115 HP it’s way behind most of the cars in the class.
Now that I think about it, it’s behind most of the cars on the road.
Q: Blake Griffin over KIA optima, are you impressed?
Griffin won nba 2011 slam dunk contest, was it look impressive?
here’s the replay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnXHiSQ-rGk
A: I’m never impressed with commercials, which is all that stupid thing was. Besides, he only jumped over the hood. Let him jump over the passenger section, then I might be impressed.
Or let him jump from the front of the car to the back of the car…now THAT would be impressive.
But that whole thing was nothing more than a commercial for Kia, not for Blake Griffin.
He’s a beast, though.
