Q: What modifications you would make to a VolksWagen Tiguan 2010?
Im really new to this to modificating cars etc.
But I really want to make it better. I just love my baby. Thats why I decided to invest my earnings on it.
However, I still have some cash, around 1,500 USD, at least it really worths it, im paying more.

I just bought a dvd to replace it with the actual cd player which include rear view camera, gps, etc…

Its really dissapointing to see that I bought a tiguan without electronic chairs, so I have to actually move it, takes a lot to adjust it, its really annoying, but Im not sure if investing in that, since almost noone notice that.

I have an almost grey tiguan, if you want to suggest anything outside.

So please leave the modifications you would make, and a bit for explanation if you can, since im new on this.

THANKS A LOT!!!!

A: id get a nice pair of 18 inch rims any bigger it will look like the wigger moblie

Q: What do you think of the Volkswagen Tiguan as a first car? Or my dad’s 2006 Audi A6 4.2?
It’s fully loaded and $36,000 (VW). My dad will pay for it. He also might give me his old Audi, which looks and drives as if new. It’s a really nice car. It is really high quality. The Tiguan has more space, and the driving position is higher. When loaded, it’s also pretty nice…

Don’t say I’m spoiled, I hate that. I just want your answer.
And “Sex is Good”….I’m sorry you had to pay for your shittyass ‘97 Chevy, but some people have parents who say yes because I told them to. So don’t complain to me about your unlucky vehicular situation.

A: Accept his old Audi. Cars are depreciating assets.

Q: Volkswagen CC or Tiguan?
Hey guys I’m having a really hard time trying to decide what type of volkswagen I should get…

Both cars are fantastic! But I have minimal problems with them and I cant seem to decide which car will be better for me…

The CC has a great look and great trunk space but the problem is is that there are only 4 seats in it! Is having only 4 seats going to be a problem for a college student? haha just wondering…

The Tiguan has 5 seats (which is fantastic) and a great sunroof but the trunk space is not so great (and it is not as cool looking as the cc! :P )

If you were a college student, which car would you choose? Which is more important to you… more seats or more trunk space?

Which car do you think is better?

A: Only idiots buy a vw without a warranty. You’re not an idiot are you? You just see a shiny object with nice lines and assume it must be well built. CC is a gussied up Passat…and the passat is a pile of garbage. Tiguan doesn’t have enough power for the weight (disregarding the vw typical paper mache transmissions on both models).

I’m just saying…all of the guys I knew with vws desribe said cars as a “p.o.s. (insert car name)”…then there are the people who buy one, it falls apart, then they say “oh well time to buy another one”. VW builds these cars to be disposed of at 50-75k miles…that ain’t good.

Q: Which engine on the Tiguan gives you the best gas Mileage?
On the new Tiguan by Volkswagen which engine gives you the best mileage? When does the Tiguan come out? I really want. I like all the safely features.

A: when it is first released only the gas turbo will be available, so you won’t have a choice. once the diesel comes with it, it won’t be close. the diesel gets almost 60% better than the gas and still hauls similarly.

Q: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/#/new/tiguan/?
would this vw be good for a family of 4?
also, how reliable are vws?

thsks!

A: for a family of 4 that car might be a little cramped. just depends on the age of your children. however the tiguan did get good reviews as far as safety. i read an article the other day where it was ranked #1 in its class for roll overs (that is to say it was the safest). if you find the tiguan a little small, try a touareg if you want an suv. otherwise i would recommend the new beautiful cc. as far as reliability goes, volkswagen is constantly increasing its quality. so whichever vw you choose, you’ll be choosing a car that’s safe, reliable and one that’s fun to drive.

Q: What do you think of Volkswagen cars?
I’m about to buy a car and when I was on the Volkswagen site, I liked the Tiguan or Eos. I need a car that would last long, safe, basically, least hassle. so what do you think?

A: Cars will last as long, and as safely, as you keep up with the maintenance.

Regardless of make, brand, model, etc.

VWs are fun cars, but don’t look to shop for one car over another, based on “how long it will last” since that’s solely dependent on you.

Q: which car should my family get? Tiguan or CR-V? pictures included!!!!?
we have 2 options below we need to choose from. my mom wants the Tiguan, and my brother want the CRV. which one do u think? if any of u own a tiguan or crv, plz tell me if u like it and if u recomend it. keep in mind this is for a family with a 14 yr old girl and an 11 yr old boy, thx!

this is the Tiguan: http://www.diariomotor.com/imagenes/volkswagen-tiguan-imgcomp-1.jpg

http://blog.vehiclevoice.com/VW_08_Tiguan_bl_2.jpg

and this is the CR-V: http://www.casanovacars.com/2007/03/15/Honda%20CR-V%20Aero%20Pack%201.jpg

http://freakcars.blogspot.com/2008/07/honda-crv-pictures-photos.html

tell me which one u like better, i no they seem similar, but they’re different

A: tiguan if you want a better but more expensive driving experience. (better power but less mpg and more expensive repairs)

or the CR-V if you want the least driving cost, very underpowered but good gas mileage and cheap repairs

Q: Tiguan vs. Rogue vs. 4runner?
I’ve been driving a car for about 4 years, and am thinking of transitioning over to a Crossover/small suv. I’ve looked at the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Nissan Rogue and the Toyota 4Runner. The Rogue is more in my price range, but I’m still not sure.

Would anyone like to share experiences with the above vehicles?
I’m going for test drives within the week, because I want something that handles like a car because I’ve never driven anything bigger than a Grand Am for any length of time.

Gas mileage is a must since I commute an hour to work, but safety ratings are also very important as well as dependability.

Please share your thoughts/knowledge with me. Thanks.

A: the first two (TIGUAN and ROGUE) are good comparison. the 4RUNNER is huge, is not a crossover or small.

Out of the two i’d go for the NISSAN, not as expensive as the VW.

Q: Why are there less Volkswagen models available in US than other countries?
They currently only sell 10 models in US (Jetta, Passat, New Beetle, Rabbit, Eos, GLI, GTI, R32, Tiguan, & Toureg). But they sell 13 models in South Africa, 20 in South America, 22 in Asia/Pacific, and 20 in Europe. What gives?

A: A lot of issues are in play here; however, its fair to say that some of the models are not well suited to the US market. The Polo, as popular as it is, is probably too small for US tastes and low horsepower motors its equipped with won’t make many converts here. In addition, until just recently, VW was attempting to move the product line upscale to the near luxury area, a entry level car like the Polo would work against that.

VW also has assembly plants in various countries around the world; Brazil, Argentina, China, Spain, Russia and other places where they can make models suited to the local market. VW hasn’t had an assembly plant in the US market since 1983? or so; most of the vehicles sold in the US market are made in Mexico, which also has to build vehicles for the local market.

One of the other issues the powertrain; it takes many millions of dollars to certify a vehicle to meet the emissions and safety standards that the US has (not to menion the California emissions standards that are the strictest in the world), so because of the number vehicles that VW currently sells in the US, they have a limited number of powertrain choices, which in turn limits the type and kind of vehicles that they can sell here.

Finally, since they have no assembly plant in the US, models that aren’t assembled in Mexico are very expenisve to import. With the Euro now trading at close at or near 1.60 US dollars to a single Euro, VW is close to taking a loss on some vehicles sold in the US. A Passat is actually slightly cheaper in the USA, than at home with compariable equipment levels.

Having once owning stock in a now departed auto maker; I can remember them once telling us poor shareholders how they saved millions of dollars in tooling for the body shell by modifying the existing body dies for the “new car.” Ford, it was reported, spent over 1 billion dollars in development and tooling costs to develop the 1986 Mercury Sable and Ford Tarus models: if it had failed in the market placed Ford wouldn’t be with us today.

Hope this gives you some insight into why the US market doesn’t get some models sold overseas.

Q: mazda vs gmc vs volkswagen. help please?
my 3 top picks are the mazda cx7, the GMC terrain, and the volkswagen tiguan. what i want to know is how these vehicles hold up. least amount of “break-downs”? reliability? thanks…
why not mazda? does it have “issues”?
ive test drove all except the gmc because availabilty is low here in houston…i LOVE the VW but ive heard AWFUL things about them. havent heard anything bad about mazdas tho..
i own a toyota matrix now. 7 years old and not 1 problem. BUT, im ready for something different now. not to mention, something, “fun”…and thats why im worried about going to a different make, because toyota IS so reliable.

A: The GMC is probably the easiest to maintain, because most shops keep parts in stock for GM vehicles. The volkswagon, is probably the most durable, and volkswagon now offers free service for three years at a dealership. After that, it becomes very difficult and expensive to maintain. I would not choose the mazda.

Q: What is the average cost for a 16 year olds car? Quick Question?
what do most people pay? and im think ing about getting a new ford escape, volkswagen tiguan, volkswagen passat, or the niassan altima and my parents will be paying for it
thanks so much

A: Any of those new cars are going to cost you the same whether you are 16 or 60 they don’t charge prices according to your age.

Q: Opinions on Volkswagen Car Company.?
How is Volkswagen? The Tiguan? How good of a car is it? Any problems with the company and customer service? And servicing the vehicle? Any other info in Volkswagen?
Thanks:)

A: I can go on with this subject so I’ll make it short.

VW was originally an automobile manufacturer dedicated to producing the most practical, efficient, inexpensive, and simple car possible. They succeeded well, with the Beetle becoming by far the most iconic and loved car in the world. In fact, it is the most produced car in the world at over 22 million units. Other models included the iconic Type 2, or Bus, which was the pioneer of personal and work vans, the Type 3, which utilized the rear-mounted “pancake” engine to boast more cargo space in a compact than in a Cadillac, the sporty Karmann Ghia, with its notable Italian design, and the Thing, the all-terrain, original Jeep-recovery-vehicle. Today, VW has some issues. They tried to take on a whole new market by producing mid-priced and luxury cars. In fact, in 2010, they sold less than half as many cars in their whole lineup as they did Beetles (not including Super Beetles or Convertibles) in 1971. Since “bringing back” the Beetle name in 1998, they are yet to sell as many New Beetles they did Beetles in 1971. That should say something. They are going in territory that they never should have went into. Once known for their great quality, ultra simplicity, great reliability, ease of fixing, and inexpensive price, now known for electrical problems, lack of quality, lack of reliability, and unreasonably high price. As goes the demise of the greatest car company in history.

Q: Would these cars be good for a 16 year old?
so i was wondering if the ford escape, the nissan altima, the volkswagen passat, or the volkswagen tiguan would be apprropiate cars for a 16 year old if their parents could buy it for them. also what is the average cost for a kid’s car?

thanks

A: Well that really depends upon how much you can afford or want to spend.

The Ford is probably a little too big for a newbie driver, especially as young drivers tend to have trouble maneuvering cars into parking spaces. There’s also the fact that the Ford is much more likely to roll over because of it’s higher centre of gravity. This is an issue with inexperienced drivers because they are more likely to take corners too fast due to poor judgement.

Never buy a Volkswagen full stop. They are not reliable at all, even when new and they cost a king’s ransom to fix once the warranty expires, or the repair is not covered by the warranty. One of the most enduring myths in the automotive industry is that the Europeans make quality cars. They certainly have lots of fancy doodads, look good and handle even better, but they are not at all well built.

That leaves the Nissan. It’s size is a good compromise between practicality and handling ability for a new driver, and they are safe and fairly reliable. Other than that, I would also suggest a Mazda 3 or 6 for the same reasons.

Q: What are the braking distances (60-0 mph) of these cars:?
Chevy suburban
Hyundai Santa fe
Mercedes ML450h
Mercury Mountaineer
Mitsubishi Endeavor
Saturn Outlook
Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Toyota LC 10
Jeep Commander
Mazda tribute
Mercury Mariner
Volkswagen Tiguan
Hummer H3
Jeep Wrangler
Kia Sportage
Mazda CX-7

If anyone knows any of these, or how to find these it would be greatly appreciated. I have scoured the internet for hours.

A: Well the average is 73m /240 ft. Also try looking on each car website and find the manual in pdf form.

Q: Why doesn’t my cell phone sync with my car?
I have an at&t Sony Ericsson c905a camera phone that I am trying to pair with my 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan. The phone’s information (phone book, call history, etc.) displays in the car’s computer, but the audio does not come through the speakers?

A: Better to ask experts at www.ExpressHelpLine.com
